SpecIQ

Privacy Policy

Effective October 1, 2026

1. Who We Are

SpecIQ ("SpecIQ", "we", "us", or "our") provides a mobile application that analyzes long snapping video and returns AI-generated coaching feedback. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.

This policy applies to the SpecIQ mobile application, the speciqapp.com website, and related services we provide. By using SpecIQ, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information You Give Us

Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and the name you choose to display. Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth on our behalf. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the identifiers those providers return to us, which may include an email address.

Profile information. You may optionally provide your graduation year, height, weight, and a profile photo. This information is used to personalize your coaching feedback and training plan. You can edit or clear it at any time from the Profile screen.

Video you upload. The core of the service is video of your snaps. When you upload a snap, the video, a thumbnail image created from it, and any note you attach are stored in our cloud storage, hosted by Supabase, and associated with your account.

Analysis, training, and AI Coach information. We store the results of analyzing your snaps, your development level, your training plan and program progress, and your conversations with the AI Coach.

Website waitlist. If you join the waitlist on our website, we collect the name and email address you provide.

Support correspondence. If you email us, we keep your message and our reply so we can help you and keep a record of the request.

3. Information Collected Automatically

Technical information. When you submit a snap, we record technical details needed to analyze it and troubleshoot problems, such as your device model, operating system version, app version, processing times, and errors. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting tools.

Push notification tokens. If you enable notifications, Expo Push Notifications issues a device token that we store so we can notify you when a snap’s analysis is ready or could not be completed. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings, which stops delivery.

Subscription data. RevenueCat, our subscription management provider, records your subscription status, plan, and renewal events. Your Apple account identifier is linked to your SpecIQ account identifier so your subscription follows your account.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to: create and maintain your account; process the video you upload and generate coaching feedback, drills, a training plan, and AI Coach responses; track your progress over time and display your statistics; operate and administer your subscription; send notifications you have enabled; respond to support requests; detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; and comply with our legal obligations.

Your video is processed to produce coaching feedback for you. We may also review video and analysis output internally to diagnose problems, evaluate accuracy, and improve the quality of our coaching models.

5. Payments

SpecIQ subscriptions sold through the App Store are processed by Apple. We do not receive or store your credit card number, billing address, or any other payment instrument details. Apple provides us, through RevenueCat, with the fact of a purchase, the product purchased, and its renewal or cancellation status. Apple handles your payment information under Apple’s own privacy policy.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising or marketing purposes.

We share information only with service providers who process it on our behalf, limited to what they need to perform their function. These currently include Supabase (authentication, database, and file storage), our cloud hosting provider for video analysis, RevenueCat (subscription management), Apple (sign-in, payments, and push delivery), Expo (push notification delivery), and Google (Sign in with Google).

We use third-party AI providers, including Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude, to provide snap analysis, personalized training recommendations, and AI Coach features. Depending on the feature you use, we may send selected images from your uploaded snaps, information about your athletic profile, snap and analysis results, training information, notes, and messages you send to the AI Coach. These providers process this information to provide the feature to you.

We may also disclose information if we are required to by law, subpoena, or other valid legal process, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others, or to investigate fraud.

If SpecIQ is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.

7. Data Retention

We keep your account information, snaps, analysis history, training information, and AI Coach conversations for as long as your account is active, so that your progress history remains available to you.

You may delete individual snaps at any time from within the app. Deleting a snap deletes its record and analysis along with its stored video and thumbnail.

When you delete your account, we delete your account, profile and profile photo, snaps with their videos and thumbnails, analysis and training information, and AI Coach conversations, and we ask our subscription provider to delete its record of you. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription; cancel it in your Apple ID settings. Backups and system logs may retain copies for a limited period before they are overwritten in the ordinary course, and we may retain records we are required by law to keep.

8. Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with our cloud providers using access controls designed to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

9. Your Choices and Rights

Access and correction. You can view and edit your profile information at any time from the Profile screen in the app.

Deletion. You can delete your account from within the app, or by emailing us. Deleting your account removes your data as described in Section 7.

Notifications. You can disable push notifications in your device settings at any time.

California residents. If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it, the right to request deletion, the right to request correction, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below; we may need to verify your identity before we act on a request.

10. Children's Privacy

SpecIQ is intended for athletes aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us information, email us and we will delete it. If you are under 18, you may use SpecIQ only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we will provide additional notice in the app. Your continued use of SpecIQ after an update means you accept the revised policy.

12. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy and any dispute arising from it are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
